The Family Literacy Workshops are funded through a grant from the Governor's Office of Student Achievement and are designed for parents of children ages birth to 8. Parents receive books and tips to use build children's reading skills at home. Activities are also provided for children, while light refreshments are served.
Research demonstrates that children reading on grade level by the end of grade 3 are more likely to graduate from high school. For more information on the Family Literacy Workshop series, please contact Dr. Lynn Cato, Director of Curriculum & Instruction, at 706-986-4000.
